Dark Side of The Moon! The Dark Side of The Moon: Pink Floyd’s Groundbreaking 1973 Album When The Dark Side of the Moon was released on March 1, 1973, it didn’t just change the trajectory of Pink Floyd’s career; it forever altered the landscape of rock music. The album, which would become one of the best-selling and most influential albums of all time, marked a creative and sonic leap for the British band. At the time, Pink Floyd was already known for their atmospheric and experimental approach to rock music, but The Dark Side of the Moon elevated their artistry to unprecedented heights. The album’s concept — exploring themes like mental illness, the human condition, and the pressures of life — resonated with listeners across generations. The band’s seamless blend of progressive rock, jazz, and electronic music created a sound that was ahead of its time, and its thematic cohesion gave the record an unparalleled depth. The opening track, “Speak to Me,” flows effortlessly into the haunting “Breathe,” setting the tone for a journey through introspection and existential contemplation. Songs like “Time” and “Money” became anthems of the era, both musically complex and lyrically sharp in their critiques of modern life. The record’s standout track, “The Great Gig in the Sky,” is as much an emotional experience as a musical one, with Clare Torry’s soaring vocals taking the listener to another realm. One of the album’s groundbreaking achievements was its use of studio effects and tape loops, as well as its innovative approach to mixing and sound design, thanks to producer Alan Parsons. The use of quadraphonic sound was also revolutionary, immersing listeners in a multi-dimensional listening experience. The Dark Side of the Moon was not just an album; it was an experience — one that continues to captivate listeners, making it a timeless masterpiece of rock history. Love Karma the Kat

WHO IS CJC ? As a music promoter who specializes in worldwide radio airplay for bands and artists of various genres from all over the world, I interact daily with many people in different time zones. It’s a very busy job, which I love but who is Catherine aka CJ who is CJC Promotions? Working on my own to bring the best new releases to radio stations all over the world is a very busy role in which I am the owner, manager, admin team, sales team, accounting team, marketing team etc. I’ve got my multitasking down to a fine art and try to make sure that I get ‘me time’ on my day off to get away from my laptop and music. My love of music began when I was 7 years old and my parents gave me the vinyl record ‘Save Your Kisses For Me’ by the 70s UK group Brotherhood of Man, who won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974. Today, as a 57 year old, I adore hearing new music and am in a very lucky position when artists send me new songs to listen to. I get my headphones on to do this, as I’m actually profoundly hard of hearing. I do have hearing but for the best quality, I use my headphones when doing this. In my spare time ( when I get any ), I love to go out for coffee and I’m a huge supporter of small, local, independent coffee shops and garden centres. My dream location to do this is beside the sea and I’m super lucky that I have this, only five minutes drive from my home which is also beside the sea in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Another joy of mine is swimming and I find this is where I get the most benefit to switch off, when I’m in the pool. During the winter months I swim indoors but during the summer months, I am lucky enough to be able to have the super Stonehaven Outdoor Pool only a fifteen-minute drive away from where I live. This is a true diamond locally as it’s an Olympic sized pool, heated and salt water which coupled with the beauty of swimming outside, definitely has the feel good factor as well as being great exercise. Another love of mine, is visiting Scottish National Trust Properties ( castles mostly )in the local area, which have a garden to have a short walk around. It’s truly amazing to see places like these, change during the seasons as the flower and plant growth comes on in leaps and bounds. I guess, reading back through my words, the other side of the business person CJC, is Catherine who loves peace and quiet away from noise. Time to appreciate life and the beauties of nature. Life is meant to be enjoyed so enjoy every single moment and try and get the balance between life and work correct. Catherine J Campbell CJC PROMOTIONS SCOTLAND Catherine Campbell

We Salute...GeorgeHarrison George Harrison, often referred to as the “Quiet Beatle,” was much more than a background presence in the world’s most famous band. As a guitarist, songwriter, and spiritual seeker, Harrison left an indelible mark on music, blending Western rock with Indian influences and pioneering new sounds that shaped generations of artists. Early Life and Joining The Beatles Born on February 25, 1943, in Liverpool, England, George Harrison showed an early interest in music. He was just 15 when he joined John Lennon and Paul McCartney in The Quarrymen, the group that would evolve into The Beatles. Although initially overshadowed by Lennon and McCartney’s songwriting dominance, Harrison’s guitar work was an essential part of the band’s sound. His lead guitar on songs like A Hard Day’s Night, Ticket to Ride, and Day Tripper showcased his ability to create memorable riffs and intricate melodies. A Rising Songwriter in The Beatles As The Beatles progressed, so did Harrison’s songwriting. His early compositions, such as Don’t Bother Me (1963), hinted at his potential, but it wasn’t until Rubber Soul (1965) and Revolver (1966) that he truly found his voice. Songs like If I Needed Someone and Taxman displayed his growing confidence and ability to craft sharp, insightful lyrics. Harrison’s interest in Indian music and philosophy deeply influenced The Beatles’ later works. His introduction of the sitar on Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown) and his composition Within You Without You on Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band brought a new dimension to rock music, inspiring countless musicians to experiment with Eastern sounds. By the time of The White Album (1968) and Abbey Road (1969), Harrison had become an equal songwriting force within the band. His contributions, including While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Something, and Here Comes the Sun, are considered some of the greatest Beatles songs of all time. Going Solo: Breaking Free from The Beatles After The Beatles disbanded in 1970, Harrison wasted no time in proving himself as a solo artist. His debut triple album, All Things Must Pass, was a landmark achievement. Featuring classics like My Sweet Lord and What Is Life, the album demonstrated Harrison’s spiritual depth and ability to craft powerful melodies. His passion for humanitarian work led him to organize The Concert for Bangladesh in 1971, one of the first major benefit concerts in history. Featuring artists like Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, and Ravi Shankar, the event raised millions for refugees and set the stage for future charity concerts like Live Aid. Later Career and Legacy Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Harrison continued to release successful solo albums, including Living in the Material World, Thirty Three & 1/3, and Cloud Nine, which featured the hit Got My Mind Set on You. He also formed the supergroup The Traveling Wilburys with Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, Roy Orbison, and Jeff Lynne, further cementing his status as a legendary musician. Beyond music, Harrison was passionate about film and co-founded HandMade Films, producing movies like Monty Python’s Life of Brian and Time Bandits. Final Years and Influence Harrison was diagnosed with cancer in the late 1990s, and despite treatment, he passed away on November 29, 2001. His legacy, however, lives on. His spiritual approach to music, pioneering guitar work, and humanitarian efforts continue to inspire musicians and fans worldwide. From The Beatles to his solo career, George Harrison was never just “the quiet one”—he was a visionary artist whose music and message transcended generations. The Quiet Beatle Who Changed Music Forever

It’s no secret that autistic people are direct communicators. We are literal thinkers. We say what we mean and we mean what we say. Unfortunately, no matter how well-intentioned our words are, we are often perceived as rude. In fact, I was accused of this very thing recently. I can’t remember what I said or what the conversation was about, but I recall the other person getting defensive. I didn’t understand why. I hadn’t insulted or offended them. I hadn’t criticized them. I hadn’t said or done anything that I perceived as hurtful. So, why were they getting defensive? When I asked, I don’t think I got a straight answer, but what I took away from that conversation is that the world largely misunderstands how autistic people communicate. My mom used to tell me to watch my tone. The problem with that is that many autistic people cannot decipher tone. Some of us can only decipher certain tones. It’s the same with facial expressions. I never know what expression my face is making unless I am being intentional with it. So, the words ‘tone’ and ‘facial expression’ have very little bearing on how I interact with others. So, what’s the real problem? Other people’s perception. It really is that simple. I can’t tell anyone what they should think, but I’m going to challenge anyone who is not autistic to reconsider their first perception if it is negative when interacting with an autistic person. Here’s why: autistic people genuinely think they are communicating in a way that is sensitive to you and your likes and dislikes. In some cases, autistic people may feel deeply about a topic and will appear more passionate about the subject. Autistic people will be honest to a fault. And most importantly, autistic people do not have the skillset to sugar coat their communication. We feel deeply - even if it doesn’t appear that way. We truly want to be sensitive to the people in our lives. And just like anyone would want some grace when they are doing their best to communicate, autistic people are no different. If you ever find yourself interacting with an autistic person and feel they are being rude, here are some things to try: • Ask questions. If you find yourself getting defensive or offended, ask questions to find out the intentions of the autistic person. You’ll probably be surprised by the answer. • Remind yourself that the autistic person probably isn’t trying to be malicious and gently ask them if they can rephrase what they said (they may or may not be able to). • Calmly tell the autistic person that you do not like how they said something to you and explain why! The autistic person will probably apologize and explain their intention. • Remember that tone and facial expressions are not perceived by many autistic people in the same way. So, if tone is the issue, revert to asking questions. Lady Miranda ~ Musician & Author It’s No Secret!

LIVE ON MARS (David Bowie) WORDS to David Bowies`s Life on Mars by Anissa Damali There are plenty of explanations, interpretations, etc. about the song title “Life on Mars”. Even though the motivation for the creation of this absolute global masterpiece is in relation, as a parody of “My Way”, I see a little further beyond the edge of her nose, or rather read the story of the lyrics between the lines and feel very much addressed by its content due to my view and perception of our world, my tiredness and boredom about people and their ill-considered, greedy deeds gone wild. We are still in this eternally repeating loop of Manners, Powers, Empowers, Debilitation, Injustice, simultaneous fame and success or call it Micky Mouse, which overplays the real tragedy. The Girl with the mousy hair; her fate also as a symbol of fragility, which is surreally overplayed in it. Everything and nothing! Still our Planet ...sad, and I still only play to those who really love me: my mother , my dog and clowns ... I am neither a “profundity blower” nor a whiner, rather the absolute opposite. I enjoy the lightness of being, the humor, the harmony, all this despite all the still very many strokes of fate. Unfortunately, and somehow not surprisingly, Bowie’s words, this song, could come exactly from the “now” and thus from today: Long live kitsch! An ever-repeating story, comedy, tragedy... Call it how ever you want. As always, she/it is in the eye of the beholder... Sad with what is actually always an ironic appeal together with the question Bowie asks: ‘Is there Life on Mars?’ Einstein’s famous statement could be fitting: ‘Two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, but I’m not quite sure about the universe yet’. Perhaps he was right after all: instead of trying to lead a peaceful and decent life together on our planet, which is perfect for us, we are watching as the ‘upper class’ looks for a way to Mars. Will Bowie’s question soon receive a positive answer? ANISSA DAMALI ANISSA DAMALI Anissa Damali, Basel-based singer, performer and composer with Swiss and North African roots, inspired by the great artists of pop, jazz and world music history, enjoys and celebrates the freedom of music. “Perfect Day” is the name of the first single by Basel/Switzerland band LUNA & The Gents, which I’m sending you on the recommendation of Darrel (Radiodowntown Talent Navigator). The song is a real road trip classic that takes us away from everyday life and puts us in a carefree vacation mood. With LUNA and her Gents, we can expect a vintage sound that we call ‘Swinging Vintage Pop’. The quality of the band is demonstrated by the fact that the original composition was recorded live in the studio - without any instrument plug-ins or samples. Best regards from Switzerland! Leendi

After over a decade of touring, Roselit Bone have perfected an infectious and intense live show that has transfixed crowds in a nightly conversion ritual. Previously described by Oregon Public Broadcasting as “a unique type of gothic country rock that borrows heavily from Mexican ranchera music, rockabilly and the same lonely and wide-open spaces that inspired the classic Spaghetti Western scores of composer Ennio Morricone,” the Portland 8-piece– led by frontwoman Charlotte McCaslin– have deepened, shapeshifted, and outdone themselves on their fourth full-length record, Ofrenda. Album opener “Your Gun” begins quietly with guitarist Victor Franco’s tense, muted power chords The drums fire, and violent stomps and claps herald the arrival of the full band. Trumpets blare, violins swell, guitars thunder, and tambourine rattles convulsively. Saxophone oozes and bleats as the band stalks the ruins of civic and carnal relationships, and you know Roselit Bone is back. While at times confrontational, showcasing the band’s unambiguous worship of early punk bands like Suicide and The Gun Club, there is a new level of subtlety and complexity on Ofrenda. Serpentine, distorted organs and Charlotte’s smooth, psychedelic guitar leads crawl through “The Sea In Silhouette,” a sultry, feminine anthem of collapse awareness. Cops kick over prayer candles on the short, beautiful “Veladoras”, itself a prayer for peace that bursts into a fiery dirge with harpsichord, church bells and swirling synths as the band briefly charge in and out of the song like an apocalyptic cavalry. On “Vassal or Vagabond,” Charlotte’s arpeggiated requinto guitar channels the haunting ranchera of Chavela Vargas under the strains of Faith Grossnicklaus’ heartbreaking, elegiac violin. The sinister baritone of King Dude harmonizes with Charlotte on the song’s mantra “Be you a vassal or vagabond, you’re not to speak until fired upon // We’ve seen the work of your lesser gods and we are done pretending.” Regardless of where the needle drops on Ofrenda, listeners will be transported into a time of great tumult and transition in its players minds. Offering an explicit but tender look at Charlotte’s inner life, Ofrenda encapsulates the cycles of loss, survival and rebirth of the years between albums, which included a divorce, several family deaths, her gender transition, and the beginning of a new relationship– all set against the cataclysmic backdrop of the pandemic, a summer of police violence against her home city, and massive wildfires that blacked out the sun. These songs are still as visceral and heartbreaking as anything the band has done, but there is a new glimmer of hope on Ofrenda, the band’s first recordings since Charlotte’s gender transition. She reflects, “I feel strange when I listen to our previous album, Crisis Actor. The band played well, but the voice does not sound like mine and the person singing was totally lost, hiding behind characters on most songs. The album title is a hint that I knew this at the time. I’m glad it exists as a document of the turmoil before my transition, but Ofrenda feels more real to me. The band is tighter, my voice is my own, the arrangements are prettier. Where the lyrics are especially bleak, I tried to create a soft place in the music for the heart to rest.” Charlotte’s songs– picaresque poetry that seduces and terrifies– are delivered with passion and indignation. “The Tower” is full of classic Roselit Bone surrealist imagery set to a smoldering, half-synthetic western orchestra. Charlotte sings about fleeing from war, “away from the trenches and wet meat smacking” and making love in a fertile land that may no longer exist, as dying mellotrons, half-synthetic choirs, advancing horns, and clockwork fingerpicked guitars drift like a cold wind over the wasteland. She coos helplessly, “we ran for our lives as the angels took power // and I could feel the wires uncoil.” On the second half of Ofrenda , the songs begin to smirk with a positive upturn. “Crying In The USA” is the 90s neotraditionalist country cousin to Crisis Actor’s “Laughlin, NV”. It is rocking and raunchy, decadent and danceable, fatalistically deriding latestage capitalism as Faith and guitarist Brian Crace trade pitch-perfect honky-tonk lines and the band mockingly cries in the background. Roselit Bone is perhaps at their best on songs like this and “Truth or Consequences”,– a ramped up ranchera full of Jordan Vale and John England-Fisher’s exuberant horns and ever rising harmonies. “Ain’t No Right Way To Feel’ devastatingly hints at the acceptance of goodbye, and the album’s closer and title track releases the grip of grief in a hypnotic cascade of dreampop synths and flamenco guitars before fading out on a hymn and a tinkling music box. These weary attempts to heal mark a new and important chapter for the band and a glimpse at the path forward. Looking back, listeners may even realize that the horrors of Roselit Bone’s back catalog were never fiction of Charlotte’s mind, but songs about the real, evil, living hell that we all survive. New Single ‘Warning Signs’ ‘Warning Signs’ is the new single from up-and-coming BritishAmerican singer-songwriter Ella Spencer, co-produced by Jerry Joseph and Steve Drizos at The Panther studio in Portland, Oregon. Ella kicks off 2025 with the release of the second single from the Panther sessions, followed by a debut showcase at the UK Americana Music Association’s Americana Week in January before heading to Montreal for Folk Alliance in February. Ella is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist raised in the English countryside and now based in London. She draws on her British-American heritage and upbringing, which she spent hanging around at the UK’s first Americana festival, creating a fusion of Indie and Roots music. Ella Spencer Accompanying herself on piano, guitar and occasionally banjo, her unique voice and distinctive songs have enchanted many at the UK’s Americana hotspots and festival stages across the UK and US. ‘Warning Signs’ evokes the imagery and folklore of the English countryside while musically resting on the tradition of American roots music. Full of foreboding amplified by the watery high notes of Ella’s piano and the bluesinfused fingerpicking of Jerry Joseph, the song laments the gift of hindsight: ‘only hindsight sees the warning signs’. “I wrote this song sitting in the sun while I was visiting family in Los Angeles and was surprised when it came out as a moody folk song that describes the English countryside where I grew up. Lyrically, this song is less consciously personal than others, and I enjoy hearing interpretations of it which have ranged from reflecting on the end of a relationship to climate change.” Welsh painter Billy Bagilhole created the single artwork. Best known for his abstract Western imagery, his style proved a perfect fit for Ella’s Americana roots. Spoiler alert - she also has a tattoo done by him! Born in London and raised by British-American parents in the Suffolk countryside, Ella grew up surrounded by musicians after her father started the UK’s first Americana festival. She spent her school years studying classical piano and viola, but her early twenties saw her move to London and gravitate towards the music she was raised on. Hanging around the festival from an early age she sat in with the likes of Terra Lightfoot, Andrew Duhon and, more recently, Jerry Joseph, she then began to develop her own style and venture out on her own. The first track from the Panther sessions, ‘I Never Told You About Oregon’, was released on October 3rd to a sold-out launch at London’s Green Note. The second single, ‘Warning Signs,’ is set to be released on January 17th and kicks off an exciting new chapter in Ella’s story. Nilsen's Southern Harmony have released three albums, two EP's, and a handful of singles. Their songs have been featured in the Netflix series DAG, several other TV series and movies, and been playlisted by radio stations all over the world. Nilsen is one of the very few European composers invited to the prestigious Frank Brown International Songwriters Festival, with some of the biggest songwriter names in the US. He has had more than 80 of his songs recorded by other artists, including 3 European top 5's (HotDisc Top 40). Artists such as Linda Gail Lewis, Dallas Moore, Billy Don Burns, and Drew Howard, have all done very well with songs written by Nilsen, just like some of the biggest Norwegian artists. The 2021 single by Nilsen’s Southern Harmony, «Pray Like You Mean It» (written with Austin Church), was nominated for Country Song of the Year at LDM Music Awards, and it made the awsome American Songwriter magazines playlist – Hot Indie Favorites. SUGARADO was named "Country album of the year" by The Southland Music Line (Mississippi, US), and was #5 on the overall list. Holdin' on to Nothin' was at #12 on their best songs of 2024 list, regardless of genre. This song was also #1 two weeks in a row on J.C.'s weekly music chart. Lonely Was My Middle Name from SUGARADO was the second most requested song in Sept-Oct-Nov-Dec (2024) at LDM Radio (New York, US), and was put in Heavy Rotation by UK Country Radio. Other media about Nilsen's Southern Harmony: E2TG - Ear to the Ground (USA): "Great Norwegian Americana" Roots Music Report (USA): "A very colorful album, Coastology is a splendid introduction to the modern country rock music of Nilsen’s Southern Harmony." RnR Magazine (UK): "Bjoern Nilsen has established himself as a fine songwriter, covered by artists from both sides of the Atlantic. Accompanied by musicians from America and Norway, he shows why he's so highly regarded on a classy set that you'd swear originated in Austin, Texas." Like four other musicians who also called this major North West city their home, they take great pride in the fact they churn out songs that are not only catchy, memorable, and instantly appealing, but cater to a wide range of people from all walks of life. Joe Symes, along with Colin White, founded the band. It was while attending a local gig that the latter suggested to the former the name the “Loving Kind:” something that had been buried in his subconscious after listening the R.E.M song Get Up. After a sip or two of beer, the two agreed, set to work, and following one line up change added bass player Alan Welsh. The music world now had a powerful, explosive and foot taping power trio on their hands. An act one spectator described as “sounding like nine people on stage, not a mere three.” The band’s self-titled debut album, released on their own record label, Truly Independent Records, is a resume of their musical versatility. A record containing songs of the rock, psychedelic, dah-dah, easy listening, country and movie soundtrack variety. One international reviewer called it an indie rock classic and two tracks appeared on the Charity Compilation Shoulder to Shoulder alongside tracks by Paul Weller, Ocean Colour Scene, Roger McGuinn (The Byrds), Robyn Hitchcock, Noel Gallagher, Pete Noone (Herman’s Hermits) and Wishbone Ash. This collection was organised by David Quaife, whose brother Pete was the original bass player of the British rock legends The Kinks. Creation Records’ Alan McGee even praised the album in question, even adding Hollywood stars like Matthew Modine, and Michael Keaton to the fan-base. This was followed by the energetic rock orientated single Things Get Better: a track that shows their current heavy pop incarnation, and gave the listener a glimpse of the direction the second album would take them. The single was not only played during half time at Liverpool Football Club’s ground on several occasions, but was a three-week feature on BBC Introducing. Not too bad for the band’s second official release, spurring into more recordings and shows. Keeping with the desire to show people more of their musical versatility, the next two releases took a detour down the unplugged route with the release of the Acoustic Variations E.P, and the Acoustic Variations E.P Volume two: twin extended plays that show a rock band can translate their compositions from heavy electric guitars and pounding drums to acoustic guitars, but with various forms of percussion and other instrumentation. Shortly after this diversion, a limited edition single entitled You’re No Friends of Mine was released as a treat to their loyal fan base. During the time-scale of these releases the band have not only gained major airplay and radio sessions in their native U.K but all around the world; predominantly in the U.S, Canada, and Australia. But what do Joe Symes and the Loving Kind do best? What is the thing they shine at the most? The answer, of course, is live performance. Like their publicity resume, the list of places they’ve played and the other bands they’ve shared the bill with is equally impressive. Headlining Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds After-show Party twice on the main stage of the Liverpool 02 Academy (the first time being their second gig as a full band), supporting The Blockheads, Dodgy, XTC, Republica, Alt-J, Bloc Party, Starsailor, and The Christians, being part of the Hillsborough Truth & Justice Concert at the Royal Court Theatre Liverpool, headlining the lovely Theatr Brycheiniog in Brecon, and bringing joy to Joe Symes and the Loving Kind

Their last release – the 4 track EP A Place to Call Our Own – was sold in HMV stores across the north west, with the band performing acoustically in the stores to enthusiastic crowds who gave an astounding response, with CD’s selling out halfway through the performances and second batches going on shelves immediately. The EP title track reached number 8 in the national 365 Radio Top 30 charts, based in London climbing higher than such artists as Florence and the Machine, Liam Gallagher, Jack White, White Lies, and Ed Sheeran to name several, and remained in the top 20 for five weeks. As well as playing major festivals such as Tramlines, the Wychwood festival, headlining slots, exclusive radio sessions around the world with live performances included to promote the EP, the band’s music has and continues to be be played at Liverpool Football Club’s home games during half-time. The band’s third album Portmanteau was released on the 27th September, and hit number 15 in the Chart of Gold UK. This has been preceded by the video It’s All Too Late – a track taken from the album – which has already had international airplay, and reached number 2 in the Banks Radio Australia Valley FM 85.9 Chart, and number 4 in the The Chart of Gold UK, and a second video for a track entitled Please Please premiered on YouTube on the 30th August at 7pm UK time. This also reach number 2 in the Banks Radio Australia Valley FM Chart, and number 3 in the Chart of Gold UK. The band has also recently been offered festival slots in the U.S.A for 2025. audiences at venues and festivals right across the U.K in Manchester, Glasgow, Cheshire, Sheffield, Wigan, Nottingham, Shrewsbury, Northwich, Leicester, Wigan, Crewe, Stoke, Blackpool, London, and various parts of North and South Wales. September 2018 saw the eagerly anticipated release of the band’s second album Phase II: a ten track rock classic that leaves the listener wanting more. Production of this album took place in several locations such as Peter Gabriel’s Solid State Logic Studios, Oxfordshire, the Motor Museum, Liverpool, Parr Street Studios, Liverpool, and Abbey Road, London. Like the previous releases, the album gained airplay on radio stations, as well as being featured in reviews, magazine interviews globally, and endorsed by celebrities from the world of show business on both sides of the Atlantic. And finally coming up to the present, after taking some time off from live performances, the band began 2020 by working on a new 4 track E.P, which was released in March 2022. This was made available in HMV stores in Liverpool, Manchester, Chester, Wigan, Warrington, and Hanley, with the band performing in store acoustically in each of them, plus the title track reaching number 8 in the national 365 Radio charts in the UK, climbing higher than such acts as Florence and the Machine, Liam Gallagher, Jack White, White Lies, and Ed Sheeran, to name several, where it stayed at that position for five weeks. They have also been featured in three of the Plug Inn books, which documents the history of North West music over the past 50 plus years. The band’s third album “Portmanteau” was released on the 27th September 2024. This was been preceded by the release of the video of a track from the album entitled It’s All Too Late, which is available to watch on the band’s YouTube channel, plus a second video Please Please which premiered on the 30th August. As of December 2024 initial work has commenced on the band’s fourth album. So, to sum it all up: Joe Symes and the Loving Kind from Liverpool, U.K, One of the most exciting new bands to come out of Liverpool (according to the late early Beatles manager/Merseybeat promoter Sam Leach, R.I.P). To quote Ryan Martin from Chicago based station Jammerzine: “Take note if you are thinking of starting a band, or wanting to get your music heard. This is how it is done.”

I met my wife to be Mary Harris. As for Mary and I, we have recorded three albums of our own under the name TIN DRUM, and slowly our children became a part of the act making appearances both live and on record. Here’s to the Family Band. Mary has now become a member of Ambrosia although she has really been there acting in many different roles for nearly 18 years. So, I guess I get my cake and……….

Pre Release - The New Single – Spellbound From The Weekend Blues Band on Bad Monkey Records About The Band Bennett & Steele have been around for quite some time now, having met back in the mid 80’s. Both called Colin the guys each have their separate strengths & it seems were destined to meet and work together. Colin Steele is the “Music Man” & Colin Bennett is the “Man With The Words!” & together have always been known simply as “Bennett & Steele”, go on have a look, you’ll find ‘em & they’ve both been very successful songwriters over the years together writing for other musicians. Life however, as it so often does, got in the way & as such their daytime work, marriage & children took over for a while. Come the mid 90’s though the two met up once again & started their career as serious songwriters Their first publishing deal came in 2002 with a song, they had written a couple of years earlier called “I Don’t Want To Miss Someone.” The deal was with Sony/ATV and in 2007 a young star-to-be, Amy Cruz, recorded the song in the famous Red Bus Studios in Salisbury Street, London. This song was released & went on to become the carrier single for the album, ‘Remember My Name’ going on to top the charts for three weeks in the Philippines. They have also had a number of their other songs recorded & released by the French artist Cathy Varna. As Colin S says, “Who would have believed it - a couple of songwriters from Essex having their songs played all around the world – we’re well chuffed!” Now, fast forward again, this time to today & the guys took the bold decision & figured it was time to maybe give it a go themselves; you know, be the ones in the spotlight & The Weekend Blues Band was born! Now it’s their time to shine & showcase their song writing talents in the blues/rock genre to the world, with no one to hide behind. It’s a brave move for sure in this day & age but it’s long overdue. Their talent is undeniable & as for the band they’ve assembled to take this journey with...? Well, that’s the clever part, but sadly that story is for another day. For now, all we will say is that Bennett & Steele are joined by Storm Guthrie on vocals, Billy ‘The Thump’ on bass, Johnny Fingers on the keys & Sticks Johnson on drums. Together they are The Weekend Blues Band & boy are you gonna love ‘em!

Debra Lyn “The Death of Floyd Collins” Remake to Mark 100th Anniversary Nashville-based Americana/Folk singer-songwriter Debra Lyn released her remake of the haunting folk ballad “The Death of Floyd Collins” on February 12, 2025, commemorating the 100th anniversary of the tragic death of Kentucky cave explorer Floyd Collins. Known for her soulful voice and poignant storytelling, Debra’s music delves into themes of love, loss, and resilience, often drawing from personal experiences and reallife events. Debra reflects, “Floyd’s story is especially close to my heart. I’ve worked for many years with the American Cave Conservation Association, a nonprofit dedicated to protecting sensitive cave environments. Through this work, I’ve had the privilege of experiencing caves adorned with formations that have taken thousands of years to form, seen Native American artwork carved in mud still soft to the touch, and watched from inside a cave as bats flew over my head into the night. Caves are truly wondrous places, and I can understand Floyd’s fascination with them.” A native of upstate New York, Debra’s musical journey began early when her grandmother, Betsy Lewis—an accomplished performer during the WWII era—gifted her a guitar. Blending traditional country, bluegrass, and folk influences, Debra creates a distinctive sound, interwoven with introspective lyrics that reflect her roots. Since 2003, Debra has collaborated closely with renowned producer and co-writer Jeff Silverman, whose expertise brings out the depth of her music. Silverman’s embrace of Dolby Atmos production enhances the immersive experience of Debra’s songs, adding intricate details that elevate each track. Having released several critically acclaimed albums, Debra’s music has been featured on radio and television worldwide. Her remake of “The Death of Floyd Collins” brings this poignant story to life for a new generation of listeners. Debra’s music is available on her website and worldwide, wherever you stream or download music. About “The Death of Floyd Collins” On January 30, 1925, Kentucky cave explorer Floyd Collins became trapped in Sand Cave. His plight captivated the nation for two weeks, with the rescue effort becoming one of the first major news events of the era. Tragically, Floyd passed away before being rescued. Floyd’s heartbreaking tale inspired the traditional American folk song “The Death of Floyd Collins”, written by Rev. Andrew Jenkins and Mrs. Irene Spain. Released in 1925 by Vernon Dalhart, the song sold over 300,000 copies, becoming one of the best-selling records of its time. Floyd Collins’ bravery and determination have since become legendary, immortalized in caving history. His story has been memorialized in numerous books and even inspired a Broadway musical. For in the symphony of life, Ethan and Sarah had found their harmony – a harmony born of love, passion, and the unwavering belief that together, they could conquer any obstacle that stood in their way. And as they gazed out at the starlit sky, their hearts filled with gratitude for the journey that had brought them to this moment, Ethan and Sarah knew that their duet of destiny was just beginning – a melody that would echo through the ages, uniting hearts and souls in perfect harmony for all eternity.
