As we celebrate Intersectionality Awareness Month, we recognize the importance of understanding how different aspects of a person's identity combine to create unique experiences. By embracing intersectionality, we foster an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and understood.Cleveland Clinic Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) play a vital role in this mission. They provide a supportive space for employees from diverse backgrounds to connect, share their experiences, and advocate for positive change. Joining an ERG offers numerous benefits, including professional development, networking opportunities and a stronger sense of belonging. This month, we highlight the Office of Diversity and Inclusion's pillars of health equity, recruitment & retention, cultural competency and community outreach. These pillars guide our efforts in creating a workplace that supports and celebrates diversity in all its forms and drives our vision that ‘Cleveland Clinic is a place for a person like me’.We encourage all caregivers to explore and join our ERGs. By participating, you contribute to a more inclusive workplace and help drive our commitment to these pillars. Together, we can create a culture where every voice is heard and celebrated, and where intersectionality is embraced every day. At Cleveland Clinic, our goal is to cultivate an environment of engagement where our caregivers can learn and grow alongside one another. One tool we've developed is the Leader Guided Discussion (LGD) series.LGDs are meant to engage all caregivers on key topics that are focused on 'what matters most'. Every month, they review a topic and story that shows an example of that month’s topic in action. An example of one month’s topic is the Power of Belonging. We define inclusion as intentionally creating an environment of belonging, which is essential for Cleveland Clinic to be the best place to work in healthcare. We all have a part in creating that environment for both caregivers and patients.Thank you #CleClinicCaregivers, for your continued support of this important initiative.
